Abstract:

The paper investigates the estimation of angular velocity errors occurred in rotary tables based on angle sensors, and angular velocity of the tangential as well as centripetal accelerations. Expres-sions for combined estimator of the angular velocity using readings of all sensors are found. Incon-sistency of error distribution for of all considered sensors used in the rotary tables to normal distri-bution law is revealed. Therefore, it is impossible obtain the optimal estimates of angular velocity using least square technique; as a result, the maximum likelihood estimation procedure is proposed.
