Abstract:

The paper deals with the non-Newtonian fluid motion problem under the action of a plate beginning its motion with constant acceleration. A mathematical model is developed for the case of a non-Newtonian medium. In particular, the equation describing the flow in the boundary layer is presented and the corresponding initial and boundary conditions are determined. The transition to self-similar variables in the resulting boundary value problem is performed and the self-similar problem is formulated. The algorithm of the numerical solution is considered and the block diagram realized in the form of the program in Python language is offered. The numerical simulation results of the fluid velocity distribution dependence on the plate motion law for dilatant and pseudoplastic fluids are presented.
