Abstract:

The 4th-order equation describing the propagation of stationary axially symmetric bending-longitudinal waves in a cylindrical shell interacting with an external nonlinear elastic medium is considered. The reduction of the equation which is a generalized Duffing equation is investigated. Exact periodic solutions of the equation are constructed using the geometric series method.
